As students develop mental strategies for adding and subtracting, they make sense of the powerful structure of our base-10 number system. Learn how to support your students in developing their own strategies for addition and subtraction.
- Explore ways to use manipulatives, visuals, and scaffolded tasks to support students' understanding of place value, addition and subtraction.
- Participants will receive books and resources to support place value understanding of numbers within 1,000 - such as base-10 manipulatives and ready-to-play activities.
