Description:

Learn assessments and teaching strategies for advancing students’ foundational knowledge in counting, numeral identification, structuring numbers to 20, and addition and subtraction.

  • Participants will receive an AVMR Course 1 kit and complete Add+VantageMR® Course 1 developed by the US Math Recovery Council through 8 virtual sessions with a KCM Regional Consultant.
  • In addition, participants will receive supplemental materials, an in-person bonus day to extend the learning, and support in using KCM developed resources such as the Kentucky Numeracy Project Intervention (KNPI) Guide.
  • AVMR Course 1 is a prerequisite for AVMR® Course 2.
  • Participants MUST attend all 8 virtual sessions and complete all assigned course work in order to earn AVMR 1 certification. The online sessions are live and interactive ZOOM meetings. They are not recorded to be watched at any other time. Please review course schedule carefully to ensure you can attend all sessions as scheduled.

Hybrid (Virtual & Elizabethtown, KY)

This course meets on 6 Fridays starting in July and ending in October. The first 3 Fridays consist of a 2-hour, on-line morning session and a 2-hour, on-line afternoon session with time for independent work and lunch in between. Next there are 2 Fridays, each with a 2-hour afternoon session. The final Friday is a full-day, in-person session in Elizabethtown.
