Jennifer Bay-Williams is one of our own Kentuckians (and a KCM Faculty Associate)! She is also an international leader in mathematics education, advocating for educators to develop positive mathematics identities for students. She has written many books and articles, including ones that may be on your shelf! Highlights include Math Fact Fluency and the Figuring out Fluency book series, the iconic Elementary and Middle School: Teaching Developmentally (11th edition is out!) and Everything you Need for Mathematics Coaching, K-12. Dr. Bay-Williams has served on the board of National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), TODOS: Equity for All Board of Directors, and as president of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE). She is a Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the University of Louisville, loves teaching math, Kentucky, birds, horses, gardening, and her family.
John SanGiovanni is a best-selling author and nationally recognized leader in mathematics education. He works as a mathematics coordinator in Howard County, Maryland leading curriculum development, professional learning, assessment, and intervention. John is passionate about developing mathematics specialists and teacher leaders in his district and at McDaniel College. He also works as an international consultant providing professional learning for mathematics content, pedagogy, and curriculum design. John is a frequent speaker at conferences across the country. He is active in professional organizations serving on the Board of Directors for both the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics.
